The official launching ceremony of GroFin Senegal was held on May 3rd, 2018 at Teroubi Hotel in Dakar. The event was attended by 103 participants including 46 SME stakeholders, 33 entrepreneurs/potential partners, 14 journalists, GroFin Chief Marketing Officer, GroFin Regional Investment Director for West Africa. The Ministry of SME sent high level representative to the ceremony, the Managing Director of ADEPME the National Development Agency for SMEs. His Excellence, Ambassador of Germany in Senegal, representatives of KfW and Mastercard Foundation also brought a prestigious note to the ceremony.
The ceremony started by a press conference well covered by local media. Djibril Mbengue, GroFin Senegal Investment Executive, presented GroFin’s offering followed by a presentation by the GroFin Regional Investment Director for West Africa. Ihno Baumfalk, Senior Project Manager – KfW, magnified GroFin’s comparative advantage and reiterated the continued support of his institution. The Chief Financial Officer of Ecole Dentaire International, the first partner of GroFin, illustrated how GroFin has supported the school through the pre-business support activities. The Managing Director of ADEPME shared the common vision its institution has with GroFin Senegal and he paved the way for close collaboration.
